Animal Adaptation – First and Second Grade- Science K-2

Polar Bear

Polar Bears have thick fur to keep them warm in the North Pole.

Polar Bear’s white fur allows him to blend in with its environment, which is called camouflage.

Camouflage is used by the predators and by the prey. Predators use camouflage

to sneak up on their prey, while prey uses camouflage to escape predators.

Can you see a lizard in this picture?

Nocturnal animals have large eyes and see very well at night, much better than humans.

Some times, animals adapt to changing seasons by migrating to warmer climates.

Most of us think of birds, when we think of animal migration.
